“The most wasted of days is one without laughter.” — E.E. Cummings
Adults are fascinating.
We’ll answer emails while dehydrated, stressed, and emotionally hanging by a thread…
But the moment someone suggests play, joy, or laughter we suddenly become Victorian accountants.
“Hmm yes, but is fun productive?”
Actually…yes.

Laughter resets the nervous system. Softens tension. Reconnects us to ourselves.
Also, it prevents us from becoming unbearably intense over things like printer settings.
Here are three ways to let more laughter back into your life.
1. Stop Treating Joy Like a Reward You Must Earn - Your Business life
You do not need to complete:
Every task
Every goal
Every life lesson
Before you’re allowed to enjoy yourself. Your business life is an up and down cycle.
Joy is not dessert after suffering.
It is fuel.
Tiny joy counts:
Funny videos
Ridiculous memes
Laughing with friends about absolutely nothing
This is emotional maintenance. Not laziness.
2. Learn to Laugh at Your Own Human Moments
You are going to:
Send the wrong text eventually
Wave at someone who wasn’t waving at you
Walk confidently into the wrong room
Congratulations. You are alive.
Humor creates resilience.
People who can laugh recover faster from embarrassment than people who try to become flawless marble statues.
3. Add One Silly Thing to Your Week on Purpose
Not useful. Not optimized. Just delightful.
Examples:
Dance badly in your kitchen
Buy the oddly shaped pasta
Name your houseplants dramatic things like “Sir Fernsworth”
Whimsy matters more than we admit.
A life without laughter becomes very heavy very quickly.
Not because life is always easy. But because humans were never meant to carry seriousness nonstop.
So laugh more. Play more. Be delightfully human more.
Your nervous system will thank you.
And honestly…so will everyone around you.
